Calla Lily Tropical Flowers
Like the Bird of Paradise, The Calla Lily is a native of South Africa. Despite its name the Calla Lily does not actually belong to the Lily family. The flower is associated with the Lily because its flower resembles that of the Arums Lily, and because the Lily is a symbol of purity. It is an elegant plant with a white flower and is very popular in bridal bouquets. The stem can grow up to meter or more high and has a flower which is funnel shaped with a thick waxy texture. Sometimes the flower can be shades of cream and other times shades of pink and orange. The Calla Lily is a very strong plant, it can grow in a variety of soils, survive small frosts, and when watered well it grows continually, however in winter the leaves can die as the plant becomes dormant. The flower grows best in moist conditions and with plenty of water.
